Quest - Big Dog (#5010) Gallery

The Big Dog was the first of the Quest Advanced Rocketry kits.

I've flown mine several times, the latest time at NARAM-52 with a Quest D8-3 motor. All other flights have been on D12-5s.

I modified mine with an ejection baffle and longer shock cord. It has always performed well.

Here's mine, awaiting maiden launch with it's cousin.

This BIG dog has a extended bodytube, inverted airfoiled fins, but I think it's still a Big Dog.....just a bit bigger and with a different attitude!




And it launches dead straight and true with a F20-7W engine.

Here is my recently finished Quest Big Dog.

Made some changes to the paint/decal design as you can see. Had to use x-acto blade to cut out the "Bog Dog" decal (yes inside the letters too ... ugh) to get all of the red out of there. Went with white/purple with one white fin.

Big Dog is big and basic. Standing over 32 inches tall, the kit features blowmolded plastic nose cone, laser-cut balsa fins and a rugged 29mm diameter motor mount. Flights with an Aerotech F32-6W will go to almost 3,000 feet. Then your Big Dog will recover gently on the big 18" fabric parachute. Includes big, easy-to-apply self adhesive decals.
