I had a successful lv 1 cert today on a CTI 225 white thunder. Beautiful flight. Thanks to all for the help and advice.

    Der Stock Max

My first Der Red Max, built stock. The nose was a lot glossier before I added the clear coat, so I may touch that up some more. I foresee a few variations on this one in my fleet before long as well.

Der Kinder Max - 1/4A3-3T motor with Featherweight recover. 1 great flight so far. I had to print red on a white-background decal sheet, but it looks better in real life than the pics.

Wow! Some great looking Maxs! My favorite Estes rocket as a kid.

My 29 mm Der Grosser Vati:

Maiden flight of my 24mm Max. Going to go with a camo scheme.

My 24 mm Camo Max. Great flights on D power. Flys awesome on an E9. I really want to try an E30 but I'm waiting for the locator beacon.

Here is another "version" of a MAX. This is my Performance Rocketry Lil Rascal.
I had an unfortunate lawn dart episode that required a bit of repair. When the bandages came off, this is what I had.

The lawn dart repair required a few inches of body tube to be added. When I had it done, it just looked like a Max. A few phone calls to Mark @ stickershock and it was done.

    It's not red and it's not a max.....It's a 'Lil Red Rascal.

Hope you like it. It is going up on a K160 (long burn) at Midwest Power next week.

Mini Max, my first new rocket as a BAR. My blue/white combination was influenced a bit by the old Blue Bird Zero, I think.

    It looks nice.

I wish my first few dozen as a BAR looked as good.

For those of you who put an 18mm mount in the Mini Max, was there anything else required or was it stable as is? If stable, with which engine(s)?

I put a C6-3,5 and 7 in it and it was a riot. I thought the fins were going to rip off. It is a bit much for a C......but fun. I did nothing as far as any "ballancing" Mine is built with yellow wood glue. I just use a small streamer for recovery. have fun and keep your eyes on it.

This is a scratch Mini Max that I made before Estes released theirs. It has an 18mm MMT and flies like a champion on C6's without any noseweight.

Two more Red Max models - the Estes Mini Max and the Leading Edge micro Red Max, both dressed in classic regalia.

My Red Max Family: Der Big Red Max, Der Red Max, Der Big Pink Mini Max, and Der Tiny Max.

The Pink Max Decals come with a band for the upper BT, but I screwed that one up while applying it. It's a Mini Max with a 15" long body tube and an 18mm motor mount. A very nice flier.

Last year I retired my original Der Big Red Max after a cato (don't use 30 year old Estes engines that have been sitting around). Looking at it over the winter I have decided that there's still a lot of good flights left in her so I'm in the process of replacing the MMT and parachute and she will fly again this summer. Also plan to built a new Der Red Max (or I should say Der Dark Max).
