NICE... Congratulations.. Plus two for the L motor Cert minus one for flying it naked ... :D:

Well that's why I'm talking to you about decals :D

As for those that wanted stats:
She was a bit heavy at 28 lbs on the pad.
According to my Rav2, she flew to 12366 ft, max accel 24 Gs and just barely broke Mach at Mach 1.1

Extreme Darkstar on a J800T. Not very extreme, I know, but we had to keep it low that day. Next month, she goes up on an L. :)

Anyone have pictures of the 4 inch dual deploy one? I want to see it...I'm considering it.

Braden

Here you go. All up weight with an AT J350 is right at 14 lbs. A bit heavy, but a few days after the inside stills were taken, this combo flew to a successful Level Two flight.

Does anyone have pics of the DS4? im very highly considering getting one...

Here is my Extreme Darkstar L3 certification "TORQUE" on a CTI M1810RL. Kudos to daveyfire for the pics and to stickershock for the decals

There are pictures all over this thread. Guys, the 4" DarkStar looks just like the extreme. It is a bit shorter and has thinner fins. The single deploy version is the only one I have not seen in pics. I don't know if anyone has bought one . At 99$ for the dual deploy ........why would you.

Finished mine today!
Not really a huge fan of the green.

My Darkstar Mini. Vinyl is from Stickershock using a Resident Evil theme.

I also have a BT-50 based Darkstar Micro and BT-5 based Darkstar Nano on the build table although the fins didn't come out that great on them. Next big project is going to be a 4" Darkstar Dual Deploy or a Darkstar Extreme.

Wildman Black Saturday purchase...vinyl on this one is also Stickershock!

What kind of altitude did you get with the M?
I'm trying to figure out how high mine will go with the L 1030 RL.

Thanks

JD

Nice Bill!

The 3" looks as tall as my 4" Darkstar! 86" not counting the Aero-Pack.

I'm in the club now too

Sorry for the crappy photo quality. I'll try to do better next time :kill:

Rusto cover2x (darkest blue on the shelf) with rusto gold metallic on top.

And caveman mode looks pretty good too, methinks. :D

DS03.jpg

I'm debating on clear-coating. not sure how it will go over the gold. Has anyone tried future over metallics

Here is my Ultimate DS. Will fly either next weekend or during RGXII in April. Level 3 cert.

It's finished!, just looking through the posts though, it kind of looks like Fe Dude's rocket. When deciding on the paint, I figured I would use all the holes for the shear pins and ebay bolts to guide my line tape. I painted it Kustom Shop Grape Jelly Kandy and Cobalt Blue Kandy over Brilliant Metallic Silver and cleared it with lacquer (isocyanates+wife and kids+attached garage=not a good idea). The metallic silver looks great as does the blue but I'm a little disappointed with the purple, I don't think I gave it enough coats so it looks a bit anemic. Still a decent paint job. I thought it was a great job until all was done and I saw every little imperfection. I guess I'm not quite ready to paint kustom cars yet.

Black Saturday DStar Mini in Color Shift Rustoleum blue and Krylon Clear Coat. After reading about Pledge/Future and Simple Green I tried that and beefed up the gloss factor.

I put the finishing touches on my Darkstar Extreme today, best X-mas gift ever! It was built stock, with upgrades in the hardware. Color scheme / graphics were a no-brainer for me on this one, look familiar to anyone? I call it "2 Wycked - A tribute to Carl Brutananadilewski". First flight will be next month at WOOSH Rocketry's annual "Eat Cheese Or Fly" event on a K1275, much to the chagrin of Tim...

And around back, the watchful eye of Hand-Banana.

Posted this rocket last year on a CTI K490. Same DS Extreme, but flying on the motor that I originally envisioned for it. CTI M1675 Pink.
