Mfg. Description: A.C.M.E. Spitfire: Without question the most unusual, imaginative and bizarre kit to ever be produced! Bent in ways that would surely prevent stable flight, the ACME Spitfire delivers arrow straight flights time after time! One of the most talked about kits available today! (Fliskits 2005 Web Ad)

This is more along the lines of something you'd expect to see racing through the desert after some strange bird rather than into the wild blue yonder!

So, here's the story... ...Ever have one of those days where nothing is going right? I mean by the BUCKET load! I fire up the ol' computer to do some more work on the latest kit design for FlisKits and what do I find? The file has gotten corrupted, the computer is acting up and my mouse is skipping and jerking. But I have a job to do, get this design in the bag and into production. Well it was a long night and it wasn't until I woke the next day that I realized what had happened to the design. Then it was too late and we HAD to make it work!

Well, no, that isn't really what happened... What really happened is my son came up to me one day with a cartoon and said "Hey Dad, bet you can't make THIS fly!" Now, what was I to do?? So I took the challenge and the A.C.M.E. Spitfire is the result!

Don't let its simple lines fool you. This is a quite complex model to build! With 7 Centering Rings, cutting and customization of Body Tubes and rolling your own Nose Cone, there are challenges here that you won't find with other kits.

But the results??

You want to shock your friends? Do you want to give your RSO night terrors? Want to prove a point to your physics teacher? Get an A.C.M.E. Spitfire and do all of that in seconds! Then astound everyone, including yourself, when the A.C.M.E. Spitfire turns in one beautiful, straight flight time after time after time!

From the makers of the famous Deuce's Wild!, FlisKits brings you the A.C.M.E. Spitfire. (Fliskits 2012 Web Ad)

Finally bought one of these, and it was a fun build. Took it to our club launch today, and I loved everybody's reaction to it (especially the young folks)...flew great on a C11-3 and then again on a D12-3.

Finally finished my ACME Spitfire I bought at N.A.R.A.M. 54 its Kind of plain compared to the rest but I'm happy with out it turned out. As always my wife did the vinyl for me.

Just saw this one. Love it too :) thing is, this rocket looks good regardless!

Have you flown it yet?

Yup, last fall. Only one flight so far, an E28. Was a bit aggressive, but it flew nicely - an E18 would have been a better choice. There is a bit of it on YouTube, I can link to it later tonight.

Here it is.

Cool! I looked for it on your youtube account but you have so many videos posted! Thanks for sharing that. You did a great job on that one!

Bravo Fatboy!!! turned out very nice, still cant wait to get my first spitfire!

My Custom Modified Break-Apart Wile E. Coyote ACME Spitfire (is that a new record for a rocket name?). Lots of fun and still a work in progress, but almost done. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to recreate Wile E, but for now my first attempt at pipe cleaner art was a lot of fun and I'm fairly happy with the results and performance. :)

What did you use for the rivets? Those look really cool! - The whole Captain America theme looks REALLY cool!

Thanks, kcobbva. I have a bunch of these in all different sizes that I use for rivets. They are little rounded stickers you find at craft/scrap-booking stores. They are like stick-on rhinestones but they are rounded instead of faceted. I attach them with Aleen's tacky glue.

Ahh I've seen those! Awesome. I have the Spitfire sitting on a shelf awaiting a rainy day! Thank you!! Not sure it'll look anywhere near as good as yours or Mushtangs though when i'm done!

I built this a while ago and hesitated to post it because of the crumbly part next to the right fin. I'm not sure what happened and only really noticed it when everything was finished. But hey, let's just say it's part of the goofiness.

I was very pleased that thefarside.com started running shortly after the build (coincidence? NEVER!) and have been rereading the panels almost daily ever since.😁
