    Battery Holder

Im looking for a 9 volt battery holder with terminals, that I can mount in my electronics bay. Anyone know where I can get one? The radio shack here where I live does'nt have any. No plastic! It needs to be secure and strong. Thanks, Bill

"...always interesting to me because as we know, there are known knowns: there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns: that is to say we know there are some things [we know] we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns---the ones we don't know we don't know...."

I knoiw you said no plastic, but I've been using these for years: http://www.alliedelec.com/search/pro...px?SKU=8391295

    Never, ever had a problem.
Whether you use metal or plastic you still need to have positve battery retention.
    ie:zip ties or similar

That's absolutely right, and while some may feel otherwise, I skip the holder entirely and just ziptie the battery to the sled, connected with a leaded clip. That way, even if the battery tears off the sled, there's some chance it'll stay connected, whereas if it pops out of a holder, you're SOL.

But YMMV, and many people prefer holders anyway.

    battery holder

Thanks for everyones help. I ordered the one from newtons. Most of the other suggested sites had a minimum order amount or sky high shipping costs so I settled for the plastic on from Newtons. Thanks again, Bill
