    4.0" Fat Boy

Ok, I got a thing for the Fat Boy, so I'm going for my first scratch build rocket, using a 4.0" tubing. Anyone got any good ideas? Bad ideas? Fat Boy humor?

    Polecat Aerospace 5.5" FatMan

Why settle for a 4" FB when you can have a 5.5" FM?

Real men would use a 7.5" Chubsy and put a 75mm mount in it.

Unless you are RDH8 - then you would put a 6" motor mount in it and fly it with an N.

Why's it gotta be about how big it is? It's not the size that matters, it's how well it flies.

Mosquito nose cone looks close to it. Whats up hobbies also has similar ones for sale (Jack has a lot of parts piled on top of the tables in front of his trailer at launches).

Sandman does a great job on custom nosecones.

    Cal, where do you launch?

There's a group down in Sacramento that launches out of Rocklin and we do have a member from Chico.

Check the link: Sacramento Area Rocketry Group (SARG) NAR Section #557

Our next launch is scheduled for October 30, field conditions permitting.

You got that right...I plan on exhausting my rocket budget next month at GHS which is why I'm not out with the club today. Kind of bummed now, it's gorgeous today. I've been a little out of touch with SSS the last 6mo so I'm excited to get involved again. I kinda miss those knuckleheads.

Thanks for the info Old Dude. I really haven't found a good place to launch in Chico. I have launched a few times off Humboldt Rd, but I gotta wait for a little rain due to dry conditions. Forward my info to your Chico member, I would like to get in touch.
