Very cool, just not very practical or economical.

Another video, much shorter but with a great slo-mo shot of the projectile, firing the early two-port round unlike the later four-port round fired in the much superior video above. However, his accuracy result with the single round he shot is vastly better than the accuracy of the multiple shots shown in the above video. Gyrojet starting at 1:38:

Chapter 6. Introduction to Gyrojets

Back in the late 70s or early 80s, Larry Niven wrote several short stories in which a character used a Gyrojet. This was my introduction to this unique weapon. And they are SUPER collectible (and correspondingly pricey) today!

‘Man, you know how much those rounds cost!?’

‘Well, I don’t shoot many people.’

That is my first thought whenever I see mention of the Gyrojet.

Well at least it's close to rockets.
Not close to rockets, rockets. Miniature Hale rockets:

William Hale

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hale_(British_inventor)

In 1844, Hale patented a new form of rotary rocket that improved on the earlier Congreve rocket design. Hale removed the guidestick from the design, instead vectoring part of the thrust through canted exhaust holes to provide rotation of the rocket, which improved its stability in flight.

According to the Wikipedia article, $100 and up when they can even be found. Back when they were new in the 60s, the linked PDF says $31.20 for a 24-round box ($251.59 in 2018 dollars), $1.50 per round ($12.10 in 2018 dollars) in the six round box. Not hard to see why the sales weren't so good.
