Has anyone found dimensioned drawings of the Ariane 6, specifically the A64 variant? (This looks like a fun model to try strap-on boosters.)

Merci!

Interesting, the proposed PPH version replaces the boosters with a third stage. I'll stick with the A64, though, since it's the boosters that look fun.
As of June 2016

Where did you find that drawing? (I'd like a higher-resolution version of it if possible.)

Just under the picture, it is written: Grande taille: ici (bigger scale: here) but the link doesn't work for me.
I found similar (redundant) measurements in science french news.

As for my researches on the web, I did google : "Ariane 6 dimensions et diamètre" or "Ariane 6 dimension à l'échelle"

You can also buy a small replica here: (but the booster nose cones aren't the same.)

There is also this one: no measures but hi-res. You also have the under view.

And a 3D rendering:

If I find something more interesting, I'll let you know!

Have fun!

Thanks, that original drawing was enough to figure out rough dimensions. (I wasn't able to get the larger size either; It looks like he forgot to make it a link.)

If I make the main body 6" tubes, the boosters can be 3.9" couplers without being too far off. That comes out to 2.85% scale and an overall length of 70", which is a manageable size.

Nice!
What mechanism will you use to release the boosters? I'm building a Angara rocket, similar to Ariane 6, and I'm still struggling for the best method. I'm afraid that the boost might push hard on the mechanism.

Thanks,
Steeve

At LDRS 21 held at Wayside, Texas, a Swiss team flew an Ariane with strap on boosters. It jettisoned the boosters during ascent and was very dramatic. Unfortunately the main rocket shredded the chute and suffered a lot of damage on landing. The boosters all deployed chutes and filled the sky. It was quite a flight. I shot video of it that I'm sure I have around somewhere.

Good luck, will be great to see how yours turns out.
