BEWARE! There may agents of the Fish Speakers here on TRF waiting for you to develop this weapon, steal it and pervert it for their own use!

You have actually read all the books. Although my mother and several of my high school friends read all those novels, I never did. The fish speakers in the early times look cool. The best I could probably manage is a few fish stories about Oddrocs. Near the launch site there is some of the best fly fishing around, and with all their fancy gear they must be trying to be fish speakers as well.

You need a more powerful motor. Might I suggest a stoneburner? Just be sure to view the launch at a safe distance.

Most of the launch viewers did suffer at least temporary blindness from witnessing the oddrocketry porn of three E12 tractor motors. Peeping Toms will certainly feel the effects of those uncertified stoneburner motors.:)

Some launch photos. Thanks to Jaycee Boyer for the photos.

I think the rocket was just a bit too "kinky." The Jack-in-the-Box telescoping method is more forgiving on the coast phase.

Have you seen the Fliskits ACME Spitfire? Maybe base the next design off that.

Yes, but that would mean basing it on the design of a trusted and established kit, with the fins and motors in the back - WHERE THEY SHOULD BE! No telescoping, no silly canted tractor motors, no center line launch lug and it would at least have a decent motor mount and stuffer tube. Heck, my old RSO might even think one of my scratch rockets was "a good idea." That would certainly be a first.:)

No need to be so un-dramatic about it. Put some tractor motors on a Spitfire, and for bonus fun, arrange them asymmetrically around the rocket. (Positioning them appropriately so the rocket will fly straight is left as an exercise to one particular reader.) For even more RSO-torturing entertainment, mount the fins on hinges so they flop around loosely. They don't do much once those motors are up front anyway.

Now that is a great idea!

I'm learning. :)

That will be an interesting build and flight. And you are OK if Hannibal Lecter shows up because you will be making the world a more interesting place. If Anton Chigurh shows up just be sure to follow all the rules to the letter and you will be fine. If the pad assignment is determined by a coin flip there is a 50% chance you are in deep trouble! You have to prepare for all contingencies when flying oddrocs.

I can only assume this means you've been invited to an IMAX parking lot somewhere.
It could also be because I said I couldn't find this thread, so it was bumped. Dune movie coming out soon so it's relevant in any case.
