Nick,
Something you should keep in mind. Our hobby has been under attack for a very long time. Sure, there is an element of danger involved in every hobby (even in stamp collecting (though rocketry has a much lower likelihood to get someone killed for their collection)). However, thanks to self regulation, we've got a pretty good safety record. To date, nobody strictly following the rules has died. Broken bones, burns, cuts, bruises... Sure, but nobody has died. A number of people who have gone it out on their own (not following established safety rules) have however, and despite what we've achieved, many amongst the masses have a negative perception of the hobby because of that. I doubt there's a year that goes without some damn fool(s) blowing themselves up, or suffering horrendous injuries, and/or damaging property playing around doing what is (by the media) erroneously called amateur rocketry. We're in it for the fun... We want to protect what we have, and encourage others to join us.

If you read between the lines, that is what everybody who has advised against what you are proposing is saying. We don't want to see you end up as a statistic. I think everybody here would love to see you succeed in achieving your goal. We just don't want to have you put yourself, your family, friends, any private (or public) property, or our hobby in jeopardy. But to achieve those goals you have to play by the rules if you want support. If you don't, smart money will not be kicked out your way as you are more likely to end up with an award you don't want to be up for consideration for (The Darwin).

For the time being please leave the chemistry set alone, buckle down, go through the certification process, get the experience you'll need to be trained up on what you're dreaming of attempting. Only then you'll see others being more receptive to your serious pursuit of the prize. You're asking for our help, and we are actually giving the help you need. Sure, it's not the kind of help you've asked for, but that has to be earned. You have to prove you're worthy of that help.

Besides, this is an open forum. Any lawyer, member of the press, or lawman can access this site at will. If you screw up, and get yourself or anybody hurt (or worse), we might be on the hook. I don't know of many people who are ready to stick their neck out for that kind of liability. Sure it's selfish, but it's really for your best interest to listen what has been said, then follow it. This is the game, those are the rules of the game, like it or not. If not, and you keep pressing on, you'll only find yourself in a place that will only become more and more hostile, and the doors you're trying to open getting slammed in your face. There's no point in trying to wear us down, it won't happen.

L1, L2, L3, qualify for, and join the research forum, and the secrets that lay inside will be opened to you. Until then, you're not going to get the support you want from here.

.....................millennials................ffs

Technically, he is in the next generation, Gen Z, maybe. Lord help us.

So there is something worse?

Griping about younger generations has always been a favorite pastime of grumpy old farts since the beginning of time!

Every generation has good and bad representatives. And sometimes the golden boys turn out to be major disappointments, while the apparent screw-ups go on to great things. Everyone needs some time to grow into who they will become.

It’s also true that each generation has its own broad characteristics as a group. Some are given more than others, while some seem to accomplish more than others. Millennials have their quirks, but I actually think the millennial generation is rising to its challenges better than some generations who inherited everything and squandered it.

Well, hot damn, junior. You don't need that fancy-shmancy doctorate degree after all. Your common knowledge is good enough to go to space. Somebody call St. Elon and let him know there is a wunderkind in Pattison MS with a garage full of Walmart sugar.

Good one Buckeye, now that was funny.
