I watched the trailer this week....knowing what I've read about Jack Parson's weirdness, this won't be a show for the kids.
More like October Sky meets Eyes Wide Shut.

I wonder how this portrayal of Jack Parsons will compare to his portrayal on Drunk History. https://www.cc.com/video-clips/h71t46/drunk-history-jack-parsons-loved-his-sex-magick

Watched most of the first episode of Strange Angels. The Drunk History version was more entertaining.

Overall the writing is pretty poor. The dialogue between Parsons and, well, any other character is fingernails-on-a-blackboard bad. The arguments about rocket motors with Richard Onsted (who?) are particularly annoying.

SPOILER

Parsons makes a last-minute change to a liquid fuel motor for a demonstration. This, apparently, involved nothing more than stealing tanks of oxygen and methanol and attaching them with rubber hoses to the combustion chamber of what had been their solid fuel motor. He literally makes this change overnight and without telling Onsted (who neither missed the wallet that Parsons stole so he could impersonate Onsted to "check out" the chemicals from Cal Tech, nor bothered to look under the tarp in the back of the truck before they started the long drive out to Arroyo Seco for the demonstration).
