funny looking rocket

I think this is Polish ?

I thought I could read the word "Poland" in the text in the lower left corner of the photo.

Meteo Rocket , Kraków Aviation Museum 31.07.2008

I copied and pasted the text from the link to the photo.
Says it is a "Meteo Rocket" from the Krako Aviation Museum
It looks like it has ramjets and you can see some type of air inlets
in front of the big fins. There is also 2 horizontal fins in front of the air scoops
and another pair near the front of the rocket almost like a glider ?

I like it. It'd be a neat one to scratch build.

I would love to see a rear view.
I was wondering if the 2 outriggers were motors or just fuel tanks ?
If they are motors the nozzles are mighty close to the leading edge of the rear fins

I found a photo of the opposite side on Sunday

just found this distant head on view today

The fixture they built to hold it makes it look even more strange.

Somebody needs to build a scale model.. way cool design.

If you look at the attachment you can see rollers at the bottom of the rocket holder.
It looks like the holder opens up like a clam shell to release the rocket . the same type
clam shell holder is at the top of the rocket but it is smaller

I just sent an email to the Krakow Aviation Museum requesting information about the Meteo Rocket
Now I half to wait and keep my fingers crossed !

Did you ask them in Polish?

I was thinking about what type of shape the 2 pairs of horizontal fins had and thought to
bad there was not any above looking down views of the funny looking rocket.

Then I thought google maps ?? Aw shucks it is just gonna be a shot in the dark.
But Guess what I found !!!

Know I know the 2 pairs of horizontal fins are both "Delta" shaped and I marked them
with blue arrows .

I like how they had to paint arrows on it - just in case there was any doubt as to which end to point which way....

I just had a funny thought....what if the only flying part is the little tiny rocket at the tip, and the rest is just an elaborate display stand? Hehe.....

On the painted arrows notice
1 has red arrow with white back ground
the other is white arrow with red back ground

Wonder if 2 different people painted the arrows LOL
