I know, the song is actually "I want Red!", but "I like Red!" sounds better to me. A friend of mine used to live in Kansas many years ago. He had a little old lady neighbor who had her house painted inside and out in bright red. She even drove a red car. He and his roommate used to say, "Red! Red! I like Red! There's no substitute for Red!" whenever they saw her. This build is in honor of her.

I'm using 1/4" birch plywood from Michael's, as usual.

There will be three centering rings (one in the coupler and two in the aft body tube), a baffle, and a bulkhead.

That is a cool red, but I don't like Duplicolor. It doesn't cover well. I tried it once, and it took 7 or 8 cans.

The helmet is not Duplicolor. I don't know what it is, I just like that color red.
This is Duplicolor red - it has more silver in it. Seems like it covered OK, but this is a small rocket.

...And it only took 5 cans of paint!

Got some work done on Red. Epoxied the rail button blocks on the centering rings, sized the centering ring and baffle to fit in the coupler, and sized the discs which will be the half moon baffles.

Got the baffle plate drilled. Also epoxied the forward centering ring to the motor tube.

Got the fins epoxied on. The tabs were a bit too short, so I had to sand them a little. And applied my lame fillets.

Got the half moon baffles installed, covered the nut and bolt on the baffle and bulkhead with epoxy, and installed the bulkhead in the forward body tube.

Epoxied the coupler into the aft body tube, but used way too much epoxy. Now I have to figure a way to clean the runs so I can put in the centering ring and baffle plate.

Using a sanding drum in my Dremel and a lathe gouge chisel, I was able to clean off enough of the epoxy runs to get the centering ring installed.

Not sure what went wrong here. I've never had this happen before.

Well, no replies, but 449 views, so I guess I'll continue. I drilled the vent holes in the forward body tube. I also did something I've done in the past to flat bottomed rockets. I epoxied a piece of coupler in the aft end to strengthen it.

I primered the forward section, and painted it satin red. Then I sanded and sealed the fins, and primered the aft section.

Had one piece of tree debris, and one stupid bug. But I'm calling it good.
