QCRS is hosting a launch in Princeton Illinois.

When: Saturday April 14, 2018

Time: 9 :00 am to 4:00 pm

Waiver: 15000k

Wildman will not be here and will deliver items to the launch that are Pre-Ordered.

See you all there.

I'll be there.. as long as the weather cooperates.

15000K waiver in IL - bring out your high flyers :)

I have a 4.5" diameter two stage that I would like to log a first flight on. Similar to a Terrier/Nike style booster to an Arcas styled sustainer. Not a scale build by any means, but should be fun on a K-1275 to a J-415 or K-550.

K805 to K805. Double the green, double the fun.

I would be there except it is my Wife’s birthday. Duty calls.

15000K? Holy crap when did you guys get a space waiver? Screw BALLS, Princeton is where it's at!

I wish 1706 loads would cut it for the booster, but just not enough altitude/speed for safe staging to occur. Must go with 2560 or CTI 6 grain 54's as booster motors for safer flight profile. Maddie checked the rocket out, she approves. :)

Ground testing happens tomorrow...

Forecast is looking kinda yuck- I hope it improves! I can't make MMWP, so this would be my last QCRS launch before MWP.

Here's hoping for good weather. If the weather is nice the son and I are heading up with our matching Patriots. His is the Estes and mine is the 4" Madcow for my Level 1 cert flight. If the weather does go completely south and we get thunderstorms all day, will Wildman still be there to deliver pre-orders? I ordered a bulk pack of C6-5 (the son goes through them like the Enterprise goes through redshirts...)

Justin, what does it weigh loaded? Could a K1103X or K2050 work? How long of a rail?

I would call them today to find out their plans. I know Tim is going to Red Glare in MD- not sure if Jackie will be around.

Are you doing your L1 with NAR or Tripoli?

Will give Jackie a call. NAR certification. I was at the.... whatever launch was so cold you couldn't stand to be outside the vehicles and talked to Gary at that time about it. Looking at the weather forecast though, I might have to change my schedule around so that I can make it to MMWP.

I've been to at least 4-5 of those this year :)

Not sure where you're located, but there's also WOOSH rocketry up in southeast wisconsin to do an L1 cert.

The forecast does seem to be slowly improving (although still pretty crappy). I'll keep an eye on it for myself.

Don't have final weights yet, but we are in the 25lb range fully loaded without motors. This is not a light (or for that matter small) two stager.

The 1103X has a lot of ass behind it, so that might just work. Maybe an 1103X to a 2050? :surprised:

Or maybe the 2050 to 1103...would have to sim it.

With weather conditions this weekend not being favorable either days, we are re-scheduling this launch to Saturday April 28, 2017.

Hopefully the weather will be more favorable for us.

Word- I hope to be there then! hopefully with stuff to fly and stuff.

Good plan. We deserve a good weather April. Crossing fingers for dry and warm.

Two stager mostly prepped and ready to fly, CTI K-1440 staging to CTI K-711. Need to add trackers Saturday morning, bring to Princeton, and pull the trigger... :)

Justin- just out of curiosity- what electronics are you using for staging?

I invested in a Missile Works WRC+.

I wired (2) e-matches to to event 1 for flight. One e-match goes to the 1.2 gram separation charge, and the other at the top of the K-711. For safety sake, I also wired a separate e-match to event 2, which is also housed in the aforementioned separation charge.. If for some reason the flight profile is less than nominal, I have the ability to separate the stages with event 2 only (and not light the sustainer motor).
