I had a 3X24mm-bt-80 motor mount that was a miss order from some time back just lying around so I thought to myself - If I bought a tube and Nose cone...
34" BT-80 tube and nose cone from Balsa Machining Service (love these guys)
5 "spiked" and papered Balsa fins (each are 2 piece to switch the grain for stronger fins)
Fin shrouds are Estes Bt-5 tubes and nose cones - cut length wise and slotted (made a jig for the nose cone and hand cut with an Exacto saw)
3-24mm cluster engine mount
Baffle
Red vinyl wrap hand cut into "drip" pattern and wrapped at top of body tube
Nose cone painted as close to "drip" color as I could find.
White rail buttons
Achieves approx 800ft on 3-D12s.

The first picture shown "black" rail buttons - those have been switched out for white :) - silly I know, but I cant help myself.

So far so good but this one has only been up twice -
Its a risk but the look of those "spikes" - worth it :)

Vampire Killer - nice :)

A Stake by any other name is still a Stake, right? To me that rocket looks like THE STAKE

Very nice use of the split BT-5 tubes/cones. Lots of heat builds up in the base area of a cluster like that, maybe you could use some of that Aluminum metallic dryer duct tape to line the bottom and bottom edges of the fins to help it last a little longer.
