Hey all-
OK OK I know I stink at taking photos!!! But I gave it a try....
I dont normally do this, but I had a rocket come out so good (to me) I wanted to post the photos on the forums. For the first time in my life I really am kind of thinking the "its to pretty to fly" thoughts, but I know this is not going to happen and I know it defeats the whole point of the hobby. ANYWAY I think I should have done a build Thread. It is mostly all stock aside from a few cuts here and there. It sports an Aerotech baffle systems with a Kevlar lanyard. Also, the top portion of the smaller main body tube is tightly friction fitted to the mid-point coupler. That way if it gets damaged, zippers or whatever, I simply pull it off and replace with a newly painted section. I have done this on a lot of rockets and it works great....even on my larger HP projects. If anyone wants the extra parts list let me know. I built one of these a few years back but gave it away! (I was moving). I later saw a photo of it and missed it badly. SO I took my LAST Ventris kit and went to work. I am also thinking of an upscale. And nope, the side pods do not have motor mounts. Cant mix composite with BP and I am not going to do a three motor cluster using composite motors!

ALSO, concerning the small kit to the right (next to my Ventris Bash). I got this years ago from a hobby shop. I have looked in old catalogs...but I have no idea what kit this is. I am assuming it is Estes as the snap/twist fin can because it is identical to the ones on the crayon rockets. NOTE: the black fin can in the photo IS from a Crayon rocket. The original is/was CLEAR. It got bent/broke so I am using this one. Anybody know this kit?

NOTICE!!! The Photos are in links a few posts down. Sorry about that! I finally learned how to do all this.

I remember that Estes kit. It was a one-year wonder. It came out around the same time as the Titan II and MX Missiles kits. But for the life of me, I can't remember the name

As for sharing photos from Flickr, you just missed a step. You need to select the photo from your Flickr photostream, then select the curved arrow in the lower right to "share". It will display a long URL that looks very much like this:
[uul=https://flic.kr/p/KPSip7]https://farm9.staticflikr.com/8116/28765030464_51cbad16b7_h.jpg[/url]Valiant by LW Bercini, on Flickr

That's more information than the forum needs, so you have to trim it down to just the core URL information: https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8116/28765030464_51cbad16b7_h.jpg

Then, in your forum message, you select the icon on the tool bar at the top of your message that looks like a picture (it is sandwiched between a globe with a red X and an icon that looks like movie film). That will give you another box where you have the choice of selecting a file, or a URL. Choose the URL option and insert the now-edited core URL information.

Let's get this out of the way first: that looks awesome. Actually both of them look awesome. That little one (not that little actually) is the nicest thing I've seen using a twist-lock fin can. I have no idea what it is though.

In my second go-round (aka BARdom) I've adopted the attitude of "it isn't a rocket until it flies", and believe me I have a few that if lost or destroyed would really crush me. I would never begrudge someone the right to keep a rocket on the ground if they wanted to, but I say definitely get that thing into the air. :)

Regarding photos: this forum has had periodic issues with posting photos, although I've been mostly immune. Where you trying to upload using the web or one of the mobile apps? I always recommend using the app because usually your pictures start off on your phone anyway, so it's easiest to just shoot them up from there.

Do a build thread the next one! :)

BSNW,
You have a couple of beautiful models here. Fly them with pride. :)

The smaller one looks like the Estes Beta Launch Vehicle, kit #2054. I recognized the nose cone, it's the same as my Recruiter clone. A little digging and I found out the BLV uses the same cone. The Ventris kit bash looks terrific.
As for posting pictures, the add image button hasn't worked for the last few weeks, at least. I use the attachments button (looks like a paper clip) in advanced posting.

Beta Launch Vehicle. Only lasted a couple of years in the early 90's. It looks better with the black fin can, IMHO.

Nice job on the Ventris bash, too.

LW,
I'm not a Flickr user but I thought that you could paste the BBCode link right into the body of a message instead of messing with those tool bar icons.

It could very well be. I just remember having trouble getting this to work initially, and described the steps I've been taking since then. Thanks for the update.

Lets try this for the Photos......I created a Flicker Account and I am not sure if this will work....Lets hope for the best...I am hopeless with posting photos etc. If anyone can help that would be great.

[Edit] Now that I've posted what is possible, and seen what you've done, I've got to say VERY NICE!!! You've got some Sweet looking rockets there.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words! Wow THANKS! I did not even have a Flicker account until this morning AND can you believe it I dont even own a "smart phone". So I am still kind of confused as to how this all works. I cant even believe I got the photo links to work. Is it safe the way I have it now? if not, how can I fix it? ....in simple terms. OR can I just post Google Drive links? would that be better?

Also, I will try and post some better photos when I can. Yea, the FIRST version of this that I gave away....I regretted doing it. I was happy the kid who got it was appreciative....truly. It was just one of those projects that I should have held on to. The OTHER one I miss is my Interceptor-E. I BEG Estes to re-issue that kit since they now have the BP F motors. Some clay nose weight and you are good to go! BTW: if anyone has an Interceptor -E they want to sell please PM me!!

Thanks guys!!!
Andrew K
