MDRA will be hosting Red Glare 19 at the Higgs farm from April 13th - April 15th 2018. For information and registration go to: https://mdrocketry.org/red-glare/ . All official information & updates regarding the launch will be posted there; Not this forum. All questions regarding the launch should be directed to the MDRA BOD at the MDRA website; Not this forum. MDRA will not be responsible for incorrect information received by flyer's through any source other than the MDRA website. Hope to see you all there. "Freedom to Fly!"

1. 3 full days of fun
2. Lots of uber-special Higgs fries
3. Extra friends from all over to hang out with & old friends to connect with
4. Mo bigger projects
5. One more thing to cross off your bucket list - if you don't become addicted!

MDRA flies two days(1 weekend) a month at one of 2 fields throughout the year. Our Summer/Fall field is at The Central Sod Farm in Queenstown. Our winter/spring field is at the Higgs farm in Price. The Higgs farm is a much larger field with more clear property surrounding the main launch property. As such, this is the field most big project/high flyers prefer to fly from (16,500 foot standing waver, adjusted down as needed to accommodate weather/wind conditions). Historically, the first and last launches of the Higgs Farm flying season have been dubbed our "Red Glare" (as in "Rockets Red Glare) launches though over the past few years a late harvest has prevented the October Red Glare. There we see flyers, Literally, from all over the world (Canada, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Germany, England...), come out to fly with us. For this we run for three days, Fri-Sun. Most (if not all) of the major traveling Vendors are on site forming a "Vendors row". Tommy Higgs fires up the grill at the Roadkill Café to deliver beverages, snacks, dogs, burgers, fries and the most addictive grilled chicken you could hope for. In addition to a larger number of flyers (500-700 flights for the weekend), the event also draws a large number of spectators. In short, it's a hell of a launch.

It's a lot like an LDRS or an NSL or an URRF, etc. More people, more vendors, more big projects. It's like a regular Higgs Farm launch on steroids.

Is there a list of vendors committed to this launch? Just curious if there will be an Aerotech dealer. Thanks!

Making the trip out there for the first time, can't wait! Will be bringing lots of EX sparkies!

Maybe donate some Top Flight Recovery goodies for the raffle too....

See y'all there!

Features flights are starting to be submitted. See what's flying at Red Glare XIX here.

Less than a week away!!! I’m so excited!!!
I’m expecting to do my L2 there on Friday.
I also have put together some Eggfinder for some high flying fun. Going to try to hit a mile high in my Vulcanite with a long burn.

More feature flights added. Check the link from post #12.

Wow that looks like a lot of great large projects.

However the total impulse of those rockets is less than a Q motor.

Nathan, these are great photos of my BourbonROC, can I get a copies of the highest resolution that you have? I really like the one near burnout where the exhaust fills the re-circulation zone.

Thanks Teddy. I have been trying to get one of the FG kit builders to do a BP for years. Looks like it was a fun launch with many good looking rockets and great flights.

See Ya
