It's a ducted fan...but still entertaining.

This has external props, but it flies better. This guy has done a LOT of very neat R/C models, including Sci-Fi based ones (like a Star Wars Speeder Bike. And X-Wing before there were commercial ones that do not fly nearly as well):

That reminds me of learning to fly gas R/C helis about 25 years ago... keeping them in one place wasn't easy.
