Most of us have seen video of the huge Girandola fireworks being launched in Thailand.

I recently came across a video of this launch ("The first in Europe" according to its makers):

It looks like this could be done in accordance with Tripoli (maybe even NAR) regulations. It has a parachute and overall doesn't seem more dangerous than other clustered flights.

Has anyone done this? It seems like several long burn MPR or HPR motors in one of these could make for a very interesting flight profile!

This thing is very similar to the "Spinning Saucer of the Apocalypse", built by TRF member Boris Katan (delta22). Here's a link to his thread. The primary differences appear to be burn time, and also that Boris's design has all of its motors near the center instead of along a diameter of the disc. This does not produce the same cool smoke effect, but the effects of one motor failing to light would be less significant. Boris has flown his design many times and it is always fun to watch, though it doesn't go anywhere near as high due to its mass.
