Started my 6” Demon and thought I would do a build blog. It’s not a build thread, because I have no time to do a full build thread. This is where I’m at:

Plans are to fly this at Airfest on a 98mm 17,500 White motor.

Lots of room for 6XL motors. This is a great Rocket. Ask Tim about a combo deal with an N10,000. Have him throw in a little extra glue!!🤣

Sweet! When I saw Tim's at AIRFEST last year I had to have one. Watching your 'blog'. I would suggest a drag race, but they would probably put us in Wichita....

Na, we can do 2 at a time drag racing all day long. Get yours done and we’ll have us a race.

Gary,
Not sure if it would fly. It looks stable to me. We’d have to run a sim or two. Not going to happen for me though. Planning on N motors in this one.

Starting to look like a rocket.IMG_0046.jpg

By the way, the booster ALONE weighs in at almost 7 pounds lighter and the av-bay is 3 pounds lighter than my Ultimate Darkstar.

This thing is going to be fun!!!!

All internals done. No pics because it’s boring and messy.

Moving on to externals. This is an art that I take pride in. J/B weld for the material used.

Me too,,

Ok,

So here’s the whole story....
I flew it on a 75mm 7600 white ex load.

I DIDN’T pin the booster and had drag separation at motor burn out. The rocket survived, fell from 9k feet into soft dirt. Parachute broke free and didn’t strip. Drogue chute exploded.

I zippered about 4-5 inches of the booster. Brought it to Wildman’s after the launch and gave it a little Jewish “snip” and it’s good as new. A 98mm 17,500 case will still fit, so I’m good with the shorter configuration.

As for the “flour” that is just JB weld dust from sanding fillets. This flight was just because the weather was great, it because the rocket was ready.......hence the missing shear pin.
