Thank you to everyone who served.
My grandfather and his 4 brothers all signed up for the Army Air Corps in WWII. four were pilots and one was a crew chief. Two of Grandpa's brothers made careers of it. Grandpa was a pilot, and flew 50-odd B-24 missions over Southern Europe, never losing a crewman.
