    CG location cherokee-d?

for those w/ roksim or real world knowledge, where should the cg be for a 21.6" version? in my swing testing mine wasn't stable until the cg/balance point was 8" from the aft end of the body tube(I may have overshot a bit but, I know its stable there). thanks

CG or CP? Cmon Rex, if you mean CG, I'm gonna be surprized.

CG is where it balances, loaded. I stuff the biggest motor I plan on using, the dog barf, chute, everything, in a 'ready to fly' state. Then I balance it, (I use the edge of my vernier caliper), and mark it. Then, I put the smallest motor I'm going to use and rebalance and re-mark it. Split the difference between the 2 marks, and thats the CG I use.

If it balances at 8 inches, and your swing test is good at 8 inches, then 8 inches is your CG...

but, the thing is, it is HEAVY. recovery weight was 4.4 oz(I've removed 5g) and the only place I can remove weight is from the nose weight. removing weight 1g at a time is gonna take for ever*...I'd kinda like to launch it some time sooner than next year .
*remove a little weight, swing test, repeat.
