My First Public Build :-)

I got another chance to do some more masking on the Black Brant
Section #3 was completed today. The fin fillets are a pain to get a straight line .
After I get this Black Brant masked and painted I will start on trying the "inside fillet" method
which I hope will give a clean fin / airframe joint and a better fin mask .

After I get section #4 the model will be ready for some black paint

The last 4th sections on the fins have been masked off and the Black Brant is now ready for paint.

The masked sections will stay white and the unmasked sections will get the black paint .

Supposed to be in high 60s low 70s this Tuesday and Wednesday ( with no rain ) and I should be able to apply paint then.

After paint, decals, and launch lugs are applied I will give it about 2 weeks and then apply a
clear coat to the 2 models.

Today I took the masking tape off of the 2nd Black Brant
Some minor touch up is needed then it will be ready for Decals

had to treat the decals and let them dry in prep for application to Black Brant

Finally got the decals applied to the 2nd 4 fin Black Brant 2.
Now to let decals set, apply launch lugs, clear coat, Parachutes.

Then first flights :smile:

Gotta get the second Nose cone and payload section painted black

Once I get done with the Black Brants and fly them I am looking to do a build for a
French 3 Stage Sounding Rocket from the late 1958-1959 called the "Monica"
Plus it has a cool roll pattern

I have been running some engine sims with open rocket and here are the results

E30-7 = 1725 feet

UPDATE

I finally had the correct version decals printed for the solid black Black Brant 2 and will be applying them shortly along with shock cords, parachutes and launch lugs for the B/W roll patterned Black Brant 2

Hopefully I will be launching all 4 of the Black Brant 2s in the spring along with my other scratch built
model of the SparoAir 2

When you get older you don't realize how fast time goes buy, sorry for letting this build set so long before completing it

This is why I had to remove the decal and get a correct one made
The text was not lined up but at an angle
I will be installing the correct decals this weekend
