Help I've fallen and can't find my booster!!! lol

I have tried to create a two stage sim and cannot seem to get the software to correctly add the motors. Clicking on the booster stage does not give option to add a motor. I'm confused, If someone has a successful file to send me to look at, or can send me a walk-thru (with screenshots...) that would be awesome. I am apparently missing something and the instructions are practically non-existent. I don't know if files can be sent thru this forum, so please feel free to use my e-mail. [email protected]

Upload your .ork file using the advanced editor, and we all can take a look at it and see where you're running into trouble.

However, I'm sick, and tired, and I have to work in the morning. So, you'll have to check out those links I posted for more ideas on how it works.

give that a try.
I added a tiny streamer to the booster just so it simulated properly, openrocket likes to have a recovery option in each stage.
It will no doubt need some tweaking, as I just copied your centering rings and inner tube from the sustainer.
Hopefully that works on your system as I didn't have any problems adding the motor either into the inner tube or directly into the body tube.
what version of openrocket are you running?

All correct. One other comment is you may want to lengthen the sustainer motor mount tube to put in a motor block/thrust ring, unless you are going to use a tape ring motor block on the back of your motor.

I had a 2 stager where the thrust ring apparently did not get glued in, and it made for a neat confetti cannon:facepalm:

Thanks, did not know about that recovery expectation for booster, could not get it to add components and was getting the motor I wanted for the sustainer showing up as a booster (E9-0)

The version of the Software is: 15.03

Actually using two tape rings...one on ejection end of motor, loading it from the top, then a tape ring aft, it ain't going anywhere...although probably does not matter, high probability of losing it... the booster stage motor does not exist though, it's my own motor, an E9-0 29mm endburner composite booster using AeroTech blue thunder propellant. Sort of a short version of the old F10...This rocket is mainly a staging test, figure might as well try to lose it!!! LOL Only about $5.00 worth of parts... Future plans for multi staged monocopter...
