One top off at Gerlach will cost you $20 extra it's a lot cheaper than finding out after a day spent doing recovery you don't have enough fuel to get off the palya. I always top off the Hummer on the way out. I'm rather glad to have the SxS for recovery and transpo saves a bunch in diesel.

Good news is snow is unlikely. We have gone from the frying pan into the freezer.

    Set up day.
A dusting of snow on the high ridges but it has passed. Should be clear.

Dave Rose reported this on the Tripoli Forum this morning:
While we normally set up the range for Balls today, rain overnight has caused a delay due to stipulations in our permit from the BLM. Anyone planning on arriving early for Balls this weekend, please be aware of the following:

    •No driving on wet playa
•If your vehicle is parked and it rains causing a rut, that has to be filled in before you leave.
•Gas cans have to be on a secondary surface like a tarp or something.
•The BLM will be checking for burn scars on the playa and those will get written up if found

The BLM will cite violators. Please share this with anyone you know that is planning to attend

NO UNLEADED at the Gerlach Gas Station...
it appears that someone (joe says a rocketeer) filled this morn and then drove off without removing the hose.

    Diesel is OK

Brunos was OUT of Ravioli this afternoon... i had to force feed myself a double chili cheeseburger (WOW).. prices are fantastic... waitress is cute

12 mile entrance has some mud. Other than that, no problem getting to flight line.

    No porta pots yet
