ROCI's next launch will be held at the AMA sight in Muncie. 11AM to 5PM No launch fees. Our usual vendor will be at a different launch. We would like to thank the AMA for the use of their field.

Hi,

I am not familiar with this site. Where could I find information about the field, max motor size, altitude limits, etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi Horizon,
Club website is indyrockets.org
AMA website is modelaircraft.org. Look under events for IAC. There is a pdf map of the whole AMA site, which shows where site 1 is.
Motor altitude limits are K, 7000MSL.
While we usually have Lee Berry of Merlin Missiles at out launches, he will be unable to attend this launch.
No launch fees.
Bring your own food/drink.
Winds are generally from the southwest.
Sparkies are allowed.
This is a good time to launch out there, as the AMA rents out their land for farming and once the beans or corn gets growing, finding rockets becomes a bit of a chore.
We have mostly 1010 rails and 1/4 + rods for high power and normally set up 6 low power pads.
We normally try to be ready to go by 11AM and fly until 5PM.
Usually there are model aircraft flying to the south of us, so if your rocket drifts there, you have to check with them before going onto that site for retrieval.
Not much to the north or east but fields, unless you drift a long ways.
If you look at google maps, we set up right in front of the pavilion at site 1.

Low turnout and high winds resulted in a scrub. Next launch is Sunday, 2 July.
For those of you looking on maps for the AMA, it is east of Muncie on East Memorial Drive.
site 1 is the site with the L shaped tarmac (L is rotated and flipped, but it is an L nevertheless). It is north of the x shaped tarmac.
