With the new tracker I'm working on, you shouldn't have to worry about losing more altimeters. I had a few false starts on the design, but last week an encouraging range test makes me more confident that the end result will be pretty awesome.

My hobby side business helped turn me toward professional avionics design, and I have been having so much fun with that over the past few years that I haven't made time for new Featherweight developments. Also I moved from CO into a tiny house in CA that didn't have room for rocket building, and it turns out that my own rocketry goals are a big motivator for my rocketry electronics design.

But now is a good time for me to invest in Featherweight product development again, so I've been going after it pretty hard for a few months. I've been spending a lot of time in CO for my regular job and a few weeks ago I had fun spending time with Larry Haynes and the NCR folks, despite uncooperative rocketry weather. I'm looking forward to doing some test flights at the Pawnee National Grasslands leading up to BALLS this year. I guess I should get re-certified.....

Just as a point of reference. All flew with a redundant altimeter (generally a Stratalogger CF or an RDAS Compact) that matched the baro altitude of the Ravens within typical margin of error.
