I just learned that Bill Paxton died from complications of surgery...

He was in many of the films I watched while I was growing up... From "Aliens", to "The Terminator", and "Weird Science".

And I'm sure we all can remember his role in Apollo 13 as Fred Haise.

Prayers for his family, and all his fans.

Rest In Peace Bill

I'm going to have to try to watch all of my favorites of his movies when I can.

"Farewell, movie Freddo, and we thank you."

The above was posted by Joe Holloway on the Space Hipsters Facebook group. Bill Paxton played Fred Haise in Apollo 13.

For those who may not get the reference, during the real Apollo-13 (and movie), when the Lunar Module Aquarius, which had served as their lifeboat, was separated from the CM just before re-entry, Capcom Joe Kerwin said:

"Farewell, Aquarius, and we thank you."

We happened to watch Tombstone last night. I hadn't realized he played one of the characters. Then to find out today he had passed was ironic. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. RIP, Bill.

Such a prolific actor, yet never a superstar. I wonder how many people even know his name? RIP.

Add Titanic, Twister and most recently the new series Training Day based off the movie.

He even got to show his funny side in Broken Lizards Club Dred.
I didn't realize how many movies he was actually in, quite the prolific actor.
His passing will leave a hole in Hollywood that can not be filled.
