mountains and valleys

Plan is to make a naked one (shell) and then build one with all the paper printed out in colors, stripes, doors, windows, ect.

Also...this rule?

All corners of the rocket must be angled
-This includes body tube, nose cone, and fins.
-Excluded are any inner workings of the rocket.

I think I'm ok with the inner tube.

Geez scotty! That looks epic!
Thanks..it sure is challenging. One issue, every time I work on it, I get a different idea.
And when I do build the real deal, what weights of paper and where.
AND..a BIG AND..hopefully it doesn't end up on the back shelf. I have a thing about not finishin...

It was like"BAM" ...When I build the real deal..I have a whole different approach.!!!
For now this will do. Ya know, to get the look.
Also..I found this ruler in a Dollar store.
I love the thing. With the handle, so easy to grap,place,hold.WE.

Where do you get your card stock? Some of that looks like Manilla folder, but what about the blue stuff? I've seen posts where people reference 65# or 110# but when I've looked at places like Wally World, I haven't seen anything that referenced the weight of the card stock.

Yup on the Manilla, the other is a mix. The bottom (2 blues) I printed on just a heavy paper..I wouldnt call it heavy enough to be "card stock".
I did pick up some poster board and some other colored craft ? papers.
Anywhoo-- I bought them at our Dollar store. .not sure the name.. they have about a half dozen dollar something type stores nowa days.

Heres a link...
https://www.lcipaper.com/weights-cardstock-paper.html

1lb. of Text paper = 1.48 gsm. Multiply each pound of text paper by 1.48.
1 lb. of Cover paper = 2.708 gsm. Multiply each pound of cover paper by 2.708.
Example:
80lb. text = 118.4 gsm
80lb. cover = 216.64 gsm

build the "side tanks" as one piece per say.?
And here it is... Ritz cracker box. About 56ish mm. Its is dense, rugged, solid stock.
Ill print out the bottom part again and build that with this stuff.
I think Ill build it in pieces being I'm using thicker stock. Ill fold some, but not all the edges like the paper model.
You'll get me drift.

While I'm still pondering on what to do on the top half, I grabbed a cereal box and cut out a new stiffer bottom.

Ha ha "TRITE".
Back when I was a cross cut saw and bucked all..in HS I used to say..That....s.(slide the .."s"..in front of "Trite".
My teacher assumed (bad on them) I was saying "That's right".
I guess its a, you had to be there thing. When your young, anything you thought you were getting away with or over on someone was COOL!. (no harm stuff)

Anywhoo-- be looking forward to seeing what you came up with for a design!!!!
