Before those, they came in a round blue tube. Postman came to hate me (really!) as they didn't fit in his bag very well. Estes even had a kit to convert those to rockets! Heavy.
 
I have a bag o'blue tube motors from the 1960's before they went from English to Metric units. Been temperature cycled a mess of times
over the years so useless to consider to launch except into a burn pile. Kurt
 
Amazing! I used the last of mine as lift charges for small mortar balls. Wish I'd kept one blue tube to remind me of back in the day. Good times!

If there's any of them already opened, would you take measurements and possibly pictures?

A light blue tubefin with Estes logos might be just the thing!
