I was just looking through my stash and got the instructions out for the AWM J230Skid.

There is a fiber washer that stacks between the nozzle and the first grain. Why is this?

My only thought is that it aids the motor coming up to pressure, but I havent seen others like this, is it AMW specific?

Thanks

my guess would be..to keep the Ti from beating up the nozzle so much and/or to keep the Ti from building up on the nozzle throat?

A guess...

Like Tony said, it was for nozzle safety. Not sure if it ever worked, but Paul put those in all 54 and 75 skids.

Thank you, yes, it does seem to have a certain sense to it for skids.
The grains smell nice... and are a yellow/orange, not like the dark CTi Skids.

Yep what others said to protect nozzle from the Ti beating it up. AMW used yellow iron oxide, hence the yellowish/orangish color of the grains.
