    Motor retention with wire

I saw a post on here one time about using wire for motor retention, but I can't find it now. Has anybody used wire or does anybody know where the post/thread might be?

Not sure what you mean by using wire for retention. I use wire several different ways.

For Estes 24mm with an engine hook, I've wired the hook to the nozzle to keep the hook from bending outward and kicking the motor. Pic 1

I have one minimum diameter rocket where I used pieces of large paper clips embedded in the fillets and then a twist tie to hold the SU motor in. Pic 2

In place of clips, I've wrapped wire around the screws in the aft CR and around the nozzle to retain larger motors.

I've never had an issue with any of these.

Yes, wrapping wire around the screws and nozzle is what I'm talking about. I saw photos of it before, and wanted to see them again.
