Boosteth

Perhaps this is ill advised, but I'm planning to try composite to black powder staging over the break. No reason to start small and work up with all these ps2 e2x kits hanging about.

First, the booster. Extended the MMT long enough to take a 29/40-120, added some through-holes to the CRs in case I want to add a streamer later, and duct tape over the leading edge to keep the air out.

I'm thinking g76 to f15....

I'm very interested in these results because I question the F bp booster motors for the size of rockets I have in mind. SUBSCRIBED!

Mammoth ; Prowler / Trajector / Booster fins.

Well shucks. Maidened the Boosteth upper on a g53fj to verify the build, and a tree ate it when the wind shifted.

I don't have another e2x psii handy, so barring a wind-related miracle there'll be no test ( and I'm out a 29/40-120 + a JLCR ).

Aah well, c'est la fusée.

I got some of it back! JLCR, NC, & chute still stuck in the tree, but you can see the wind finally sawed through the elastic harness.

Couple notes: the epoxy ( BSI 15min ) didn't really adhere to the plastic much.

Taping the tube ends w/ some narrow duct tape worked out really well for not much added weight.

My blue-tape midbreak lasted longer than anything else.

The coupler portion was still flight strength.

I'll try again this fall with better epoxy etc.
