I ventured out to the park today at lunch time with range box, launcher, and models in hand.

Started the session off with the Estes Hornet on a 1/2A....

The model flew straight and high, but at ejection, the shock cord broke. Booster section lawn darted in, while the payload section came down via streamer. Thank goodness for soft turf! All parts were recovered intact.

I had intended on launching the newly-built Estes Lynx, but the flight had to be scrubbed.

Wind conditions were not to my liking....

Then, this started going on right in the down-range area.....

Have to attempt a Lynx launch another day.

Aye, I found it a bit strange, meself....

Oops, still haven't come down from 'International Talk Like A Pirate Day'....

Yep, the Hornet with 1/2A and streamer never goes too far away. It's usually a lazy stroll for a few dozen yards from the launch pad to retrieve it.
