With the amusingly awkward Mike Douglas intro as a bonus ! Bill Lordan went on to play with Robin Trower in the late 70's.

Watched them win the last 'Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour'. They sure beat the hell out of the Acrobatic Dog act ;)

Great documentary:

Standing in the Shadows of Motown

By the end of their phenomenal run, this unheralded group of musicians plays on more Number One hits that the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and The Beetles combined, making them the hit machine in the history of popular music. They call themselves The Funk Brothers. But no one knows their names... this is their story.

And I thought this thread was going to be about the Berliner Weisse I sent with you to the NARAM beer loft.

This is story telling of the highest order. Steve Fromholz, 1945-2014.

Good but not very funky, kinda hard to dance to....I guess it's what you call "Texas Funk"... ;)

You ain't even close to FUNK...till ya get down with the "GRAND FUNK MASTER" George Clinton & the Funkedelics!

I wasn't watch'n from the outside.....I was in it to win it. 'Tear the roof off'..... "Flashlight" or pick any of their hits.

Here's the real history of FUNK if interested in going down the road....

Oh, hell...I thought it was about clearing my head. Nevermind.

I'll allow it in my thread... In the spirit of diversity and inclusion. :p

I was always kinda partial to these ol' boys:

I have seen it, and it is amazing what they accomplished. Great band. I am a bassist, and it makes me want to get some flat wounds, a p bass, and bust out some Motown.

As a fan of Ray Wylie Hubbard, you should check out "Screw You. We're from Texas".

Seems like I've heard that one before. Ray Wiley today looks like he's been rode hard and put away wet.
