Using pin striping

Has anybody used automotive pin stripping instead of painting strips? I'm finishing a rocket now, and instead of painting 1/8" stripes, I was thinking of using automotive pin striping, then a final coat of clear over the entire rocket to seal the edges. Will the pinstriping stay put?

I have purchased and used pinstriping from my local hobby store (found in the RC airplane section).

The Great Planes 1/8" and 1/16" striping tape works well.

The Contact paper blackboard covering is a little thinner than the pinstriping rolls.
For colors: Check out Trim Monokote (not regular iron on Monokote)

This picture of the Centuri Finless used the black Contact paper and aluminum Monokote trim.

I've used the auto pin striping without any issues. Works as well as any other vinyl decal.
