I just received the new Estes Pro Series II Kit, Star Orbiter.

It's the closest to 'minimum-diameter' of any of the PSII kits released so far.
The kit uses BT-60 diameter tubing and nose cone, balsa fins and a 29mm motor mount.
The balsa fins are 'through-the-wall'.

Estimated maximum altitude with an F15-8 motor is 1800 feet.
I think that may be a little low, especially with a listed empty weight/mass of 5.9 oz.

Going on the build pile. :)

That does sound too low. My daugher's PSII Prowler is stated to be about 9oz and supposedly reaches 2000' on the F15-6 or 8. I should put that on OR and see what it comes up with.

^^-- Unless ALL my sims are wrong, a Prowler will not do 2000' on an F15. The Estes Tomahawk only does 1750' on an F32... Throwing some together with heavy guesstimation, for the Prowler I'm getting 1350' for F15, 1900' on F50, 2700' on G80. The Star Orbiter got 1550' on F15, 1950' on F50 and 2650 on G80 (apparently it's lighter than optimum for that motor). I did get 1800' on F15 if I moved the launch from sea level to 9000' .

Like I said before, The Star Orbiter is cool in that it's a rocket that usually would be 24 mm and many here would modify to 29 mm, but they've already done that for you. I'd actually be interested in the Prowler without the launch set as it's the only one of the E2X PS2's light enough to fly on an E9.

I'm looking at getting one of these and modifying it for H-I 29mm. Hard to beat for $18.
