I just bought a Jolly Logic Chute Release. I did one release test and it opened successfully. Since then it has stayed open. The release pin does not snap in place, it just falls out. What is supposed to make the release mechanism close once it's open? Is this thing working correctly?

Wiggle and pivot it and see if it catches. Put a drop of oil in the pin hole and ground test it a few times.
But if it's continually giving a problem, something's wrong with it. Mail it in and I'll fix/replace it immediately.

Great customer service! John said the problem was a loose wire. That unit has been repaired but will stay in his test pool. He sent me a new Chute Release, and threw in a free Nomex protector! Thanks, I'll be trying it out next month at Red Glare.
