Attempted fixes: uninstalled/reinstalled Java 8, downloaded latest Openrocket, all run on latest Win10 version:

Ran the Openrocket file from this thread:

https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?131657-24mm-MD-10-000-ft-and-******-6-on-a-CTI-G150

He got 10,342 feet, I got 62,878 feet and vastly higher velocity (image attached). All of my OR files give similar insane results.

Is your computer right-handed or left-handed? That makes a difference....

Just kidding, of course. I am not an OR expert, and I can't run it right now while I'm work, but I would like to see the rest of your screen capture.

When you do a new simulation, on the first screen make sure you have checked to use the international standard atmosphere model. If I have that selected, I get the 10,000ft altitude. If I uncheck that, I get wacky results like 62,000 ft.

Yeah he's right. If I uncheck it I get the same results that you do. Go on Preferences-Launch and then check the international standard atmosphere model box.

Thanks to both of you! I don't know how that got unchecked.

But, actually, the 10C (50F), 1013mbar it was set at in the manual (unchecked) mode aren't unreasonable and shouldn't have produced such crazy results which, now that I think about it, are more like the results one might get for a simulated flight with no aerodynamic drag component. Is this a known bug with OR?

IDK, but you should try contacting some of the OR specialists.
