Although, I actually thought he died years ago, Detective Fish has now retired.

I don't know who he was, but I remember his name coming up in a Beastie Boys song.

He played the old detective on the TV show Barney Miller. He was also in a Snickers commercial playing football and gets tackled at the end.

When I think of him, I can't help but remember how Hollywood can screw up a good thing. They tried to make Fish into a spinoff, and it was terrible. So Barney Miller lost Fish, and then his spinoff was canceled. Same thing happened with Grady on Sanford and Son. He was so funny on S&S, and then they gave him his own show and it crashed.
