I'm using Aerogel 5V 1F super capacitors on my flight controller (2 channels) and static motor analyzer (1 channel)
I charge them up through a small transistor with a current limiting resistor (controlled via the microcontroller) monitor the voltage (about 15 seconds to charge) and then the flight computer is "armed".
Once charged a larger FET controls the discharge to a low voltage ematch.
In this manner I can not worry about browning out my battery if my igniter doesn't blow open, and diodes limit the incoming voltage so I don't back feed or charge when not supposed to. Being 5V I can charge off the same rail from a lower rates voltage regulator without issue.
