This stuff is to be used to install Rocketarium's new 24mm motor retainers. I've never used the stuff. Is it common in hardware stores, can I buy in online? Thanks for your help.

I buy mine at AutoZone. You can get the 'Industro' size
(5 oz. each tube) for about $10.

I've seen the smaller tubes (1 or 2 oz.) at Home Depot
and Lowes. But watch out for the Kwik, it isn't rated
for the higher temps.

Is this the stuff?

That's what you DON'T want.

From the JB Weld website-
Quote:
Q: What is the tensile strength of J-B Weld and J-B Kwik?
A: J-B Weld has a tensile strength of 3,960 psi. J-B Kwik has a tensile strength of 2,424 psi.

Q: What is the difference between J-B Weld and J-B Kwik?
A: The simple answer is that J-B Kwik is about half as strong as J-B Weld in both strength and heat resistance.
J-B Weld Properties (psi)
Tensile Strength: 3960
Adhesion: 1800
Flex Strength: 7320
Tensile Lap Shear: 1040
Shrinkage: 0.0%
Resistant to: 500° F

J-B Kwik Properties (psi)
Tensile Strength: 2100
Adhesion: 1800
Flex Strength: 7320
Tensile Lap Shear: 1040
Shrinkage: 0.0%
Resistant to: 300° F
Commercial motors are allowed (per NFPA) to 200 degrees Celsius
(or 392 F), so I never use JB Kwik on motor mounts or retainers; only
the regular stuff. Of course, with just 24mm motors you'll probably
be OK with the Kwik if you have it on hand.

This is the packaging (along with the Kwik) you'll find at most
hardware stores-

And this is the Industro package I get at AutoZone-
