That is an interesting failure mode. I would send it back to Perfect Flight as that is not perfect by any means.

Yeah...I was thinking about that or replace it with a RRC2. It is 10 years old after all and has seen some rather rough flights.

sounds like you got plenty of good use out of it. I don't think it owes you anything.
I'm sure if you sent it back they'd fix it. They're really good people.

After 10 years, I'd retire it and get the new StratoLogger CF. The SL CF is way better than the 10 year old HiAlt45K. Good to 100 Kft. Auto Mach inhibit. Runs for over 100 hours. Records and saves (16) 18 minute flights.

For the money I would get the rrc2+. I might send it back to Perfectflight too.
