I was wondering about the RRC2+ and its mach immunity. I'm looking for a BACKUP alt. in a rocket that may come close to mach 2 and be above mach for 5-6 seconds. How would it do in this role?
 
Call Jim at Missile Works. He'll have your answers for sure. But my understanding is that mach immunity is mach immunity. It isn't "mach immunity up to a point."
 
You are really only worried about the Mach transition. The time above Mach is inconsequential. The RRC2+ does fine through Mach as long as your sampling holes are correctly done.
