What altitudes (and on what motors) are people getting out of their Punisher 3's?

Not sure how high you are looking to fly your Punisher 3, but mine with a tail cone otherwise built stock has hit 15,800' on a K1440W and 19,800' on an L935IM.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was looking for. I have an L935 and a K1440, and other L's. The 19,800 would be too high for one of the waivers that I could get to soon. I saw another flyer post an L935 altitude that seemed really low to me. Crazy Jim mentioned in a post somewhere that he thought that the Punisher might hit 20K on a 6XL motor. Your numbers seem right on track. I will save the L935 for somewhere else. Congratulations on your flights. Did you use a tracker? I have a Comm Spec. I will hopefully have GPS soon.

K300 = 15500
L935 = 16000
L935 = 16600 with 1/2 lb nose weight
L935 = 17500 with tailcone

Thanks, these are my two highest flights. The K1440 flight was a drag race at Lucerne Dry Lake which is at 2,400' ASL. The L935 flight was at Black Rock at 4,700' ASL, so that helped a bit. A flyer who my be the same one you mention, was at Black Rock that day and described his L935 flight at TCC as being off vertical and only getting about 9K. That was a bit of a head scratcher for both of us. In both my flights I used an Eggfinder GPS tracker. The L935 flight also had an L&L RF tracker.

If you are interested, a video of the K1440 flight including onboard footage

Also, a video of the L935 flight starting at 3:06 of

Nice flights! I have seen the drag race video before. Isn't the Punisher an amazing rocket for only $150 retail, and less on sales? Yours looks really nice and it flew great too. I started on mine. I have to get it built and start flying it.

Cool. Like those L935's? I can't argue with you there.

3,400 on a I 455 and 3,500 on a 4 grain 38 mm ex motor.
It has a tail Cone mod.

Thanks JD. I like all of this data in one place for a rocket That is my real life simulation. Beats any computer sims.

I did the drag race with WoShuGui at Lucerne Dry Lake Bed also.

My no paint, cleared PunisheR 3 with Aeropack Tailcone retainer did 15,148 ft with the CTI K1440-WT

Cool. I could send mine up on a K1440 at a field that I can get to.

Built mine with AeroPack tailcone retainer, weighs just about 5.2lbs fully loaded with DD redundancy.
Hit 7400 on a CTI-J360 Skidmark.
Hit 9999 on a homebrew K... Nice motor, great flight.

Hah, I am the master of low altitude Punisher flights!

I think the effects of my external camera were underestimated. That, and I have a bad habit of nearly blowing over those blasted underweight launch pads and sending the rocket far off vertical. In any case I am rebuilding it with a longer avbay and internal camera, and I have another L935 to try again with. That is probably some time off in the future, but I will certainly report back.

I also flew mine on an H550-ST.. fun !

Kenny

Hah, that is cool but I meant that mine was the master of underachieving. An L should break 10k, no doubt. Hopefully I get better performance after reworking it.
