Level 3 Cert. Launch.jpgL3 Recovery.jpg

On Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Tampa TRA launch on the Varn Ranch in Plant City, Florida, I had a successful L3 Certification flight.

The Wild Minion is a scratch built, dual-deploy, 111" x 7.67" Blue Tube 2.0 air frame, 29" FG nose cone, with 3/16" G10 FG fins, lift off weight 34.5lbs.
Winds were light with a high overcast. It flew on a CTI M1101W motor, quick off the rail and straight up. It was visible to apogee, altitude of 7,217'.
It drifted about 1/2 mile and landed softly in an open pasture, easy recovery...

I want to thank our two TPA's Jim West and Jim Harris, and our Prefect Dick Waters, for all their technical advise and support for this launch.

Way to go Leo. I'm bummed I missed the launch. It looked like an awesome flight.

CONGRATS!

Chris

Good photo's!

I took a video of the launch, but only kept the rocket in frame to the top of the rail. I got carried away watching...
If I can edit the video so that it's view-able, I'll post it.

Thanks for the additional photos,
Leo
