Onebadhawk Recovery Harnesses will be having our Black Friday Sale....
Since this sale is for my favorite holiday of the year,,
And since I like the way Eggtimer Rocketry is doing their sale,,
for a much longer time,, just to make things more relaxed,, no rush,, for you or me...
The sale will extend for the entire Thanksgiving week,,, Monday 11/23/2015 through Monday 11/30/2015....
This will help with the expense of building all of the dual deploy rockets in your build pile,,,
the sale will be "Buy 3 get 1 of equal or lesser value free" on every harness on the site across the board....
Those savings will average out to about 25%..... Now that's a great deal on some great harnesses...
As if that's not great enough,, I'll even sweeten the deal further....
Anyone who's total comes out to $200 or more I'll throw in the coolest T shirt around,,,
A Onebadhawk T Shirt of your choice for as long as existing supply's last,,,
The shirts are of a new design and color,, just wait till you see them,,,
Now that another 10% off the entire order...

And to celebrate how well the past year has gone with our affiliation with Wildman Hobbies,,
We're helping Tim promote the coolest rocket kits I have ever seen in High Power....
I promise,, without a doubt your going to flip when you see these rockets and check the specs on them....
To help promote these new offerings from Wildman and celebrate our affiliation
there will be some Onebadhawk harness packages that are the best deal I have ever offered,,,

Teddy I cannot believe you are having a sale. I do not know how you make any profit on this stuff at regular prices, but good for you if you can do it.

Seriously anyone who is into HPR and does not have a OneBadHawk harnesses needs to get one, the materials, workmanship and thought is second to none. I mean that Teddy you are in a league all on your own!

OK,,OK,,OK,,
Pit...
There's a kickback comin your way for sure man.... lol...

Thank you so much Michael...
That means a lot coming from you...
We are both perfectionists at heart....

Teddy

Hey,,
That's a deal Michael...
We must look up a nice steak house near Potter NY...
That's a deal for sure...

Teddy

Ok so I'll admit it, I don't have one of your harnesses. Even after hearing everyone rave about how good they are, and the attention to detail, I just never felt the need.

However, right now I'm just about finished building a large, heavy, Frenzy XL that eats 3" motors for breakfast. I want this thing to be as indestructible and beautiful as I can get it. I think I'm going to get my first OneBadHawk harness this week.

Teddy, do you not sell 1/4" tubular Kevlar? I don't see it on your site.

Honestly,,
Humble is everything to me,, that's personal..
What have you done in your life repetitiously for years,, thousands of times ???
How much did you learn about doing that ???
How good did you get at doing that ???
I am no different then anyone else...
If anyone was in my shoes they'd have traveled the same learning path and
I guarantee would be using the exact same methods and techniques that I do.....
The materials and end result that you're trying to attain dictate that.....
I am truly the most fortunate man in the world to have taken this path.....

Teddy

Hello Teddy,

Does your checkout system allows for shipping to Canada?

Thanks,

Teddy, do you not sell 1/4" tubular Kevlar? I don't see it on your site.

Bill,,
I have 11/32" Tubular Kevlar...
It's actually my most versatile material....
It's a scoootch heavier then 1/4"....
I promise,,, you'll like it,, lol...

Teddy

Hello Teddy,

Does your checkout system allows for shipping to Canada?

Thanks,

No,
And I'm very glad you asked that...
The shipping is set up very simply on my site...
It just stacks shipping charges for dissimilar items..
It adds too much shipping and I'm constantly refunding shipping charges..
First,,
Please don't worry about the incorrect shipping charges from my site,,,
I will just refund them when I process the order..
Second,,
If you wish you can just tell me what you want in an email
and I'll draw up an invoice for you so you can see everything and just pay me through PayPal...

Teddy

I'm very sorry,,
I didn't get the pic's up of my new T shirts...
They're really cool...
No kiddin...
I had the artwork redone so it works better on a T shirt as opposed to print or a pic...

Teddy

Heyyy,,
What's cookin Mark,,,
You've been killin it ,, huh...
I bet that vinyl printer is begging for mercy right about now... lol...

What size Kevlar would you recommend for an ~14lbs rocket that's 4" in diameter?

Teddy
A more generic question / rule of thumb for selecting a harness.

Given a rocket weighs X, should someone select a harness that can support 20X, or 50X, or 100X, or what??
Would it be different between a Kevlar and Nylon harness?

Like I am looking at the 1/2" flat Kevlar. It states that it is suitable for "light paper tube mid power and some light high power".
It also states it is made from 2500 pound Kevlar.

I would think that could support at least a 20 pound rocket. Or are you first derating it from the Kevlar breaking point?

Thanks

First,, all harnesses wear..
Second,, the heavier the harness for the given rocket the longer it will last..
I'd go with the 7/16" Tubular Kevlar for a 4" X 14 lb rocket..
You should fit that just fine in the booster...
It's quite common to get tight on room in the payload section though. .
If you get too tight up there with the main chute then use the
11/32" Tubular Kevlar on top......

Les,,
Those weight ratings are from the manufacturer of the material. ..
They only help us for what we use the material for vaguely. ...
That 1/2" Flat Kevlar is wonderful material. .
You just wouldn't believe how tight and small it packs...
It's super lightweight super soft super supple....
I guess you'd need to have it in your hand,, it's really light,,
you certainly wouldn't use it in a 10 lb or 15 lb fiberglass HP rocket...
The length is really simple,, I don't think it's nessasary to overcomplcate it...
We've all seen rockets deploy and violently reach the end of the harness..
That's too short of a harness or too large of an e charge...

Thanks teddy. Although I'll probably use the 7/16" throughout. I like to have my main shock cord shorter than my drogue shock cord so the nose cone doesn't collide with the booster (happened once, put a hole in the gel coat of a molded fiberglass nose).

Also, how would one go about ordering stainless steel hardware from you?
