Stupidity brought it down. They flew over a war zone where a turkey shoot was going on.
But think of the fuel they would have saved.

It may have been, but not the missile but the person who pushed the button.
They needlessly went into harms way, it was the pilots responsibly for the safety of passengers and he failed by flying over a place 3 aircraft were randomly shot down in the previous week.

So if that is victim blaming I fully stand behind it.
