Trick question, what is the most efficient device ever created?
Rex
answer will be given later:)

An electric heater 100% of energy used is converted for it's purpose. It's hard to have waste heat when heat is what you want.
Most efficient can also be the least efficient when you look at alternatives

Even then the infrared heaters outperform the older style by quite a bit. My 400/800 watt units are far better than the 800/1600 watt ones with a fan. By heating the objects in the room and not the air. They cut my winter power bill by quite a bit ;)

Bit of a worry that the most efficient thing ever can be replaced by something more efficient for the job such as the infrared units mentioned above (which waste energy in the form of light-waves) or a heat transfer unit (reverse cycle a/c) (which has all the inefficiencies associated with an electric motor)
