This is something I cobbled together this morning to hold the launch rod and blast deflector from my 50-or-so-year-old Estes Electro-Launch.

The legs are 20" lengths of 3/4" PVC pipe. There are three subassemblies: one leg has a cap at one end and a tee at the other; the other two have a cap at one end and a 45-degree "street elbow" at the other. The street elbows fit into the tee, but are not glued so they can be rotated to adjust for an uneven surface or to angle the launch rod.

I found some 3/16" OD brass tubing that is awfully close to 1/8" ID. I drilled a 3/16 hole in the tee, glued in a short length of the brass tube, and slid the launch rod into that.

Not fancy, but it is sturdy enough.

Good job. The Big Box hardware stores usually carry only the 4-way (90 deg) junction, not the 3-way (120 deg) junction that is best for pad stability. Looks like you found an alternative solution using the street elbow. Nice.
